When I read a couple of months ago how my county, in my state, was "ground zero" for the Presidential race, I thought it was a bit presumptuous. But since then, I have heard more and more about how the way we vote will be a good indicator of the election results. Then I listened to TAL today, and it was a show that focused on PA as a battleground state. (I am just sorry I didn't know Ira Glass was camped out in PA- I would have liked to have gone to a rally he attended, just to meet him!)
I haven't been too vocal in this political race, either privately or publically. I also don't usually like putting up signs, in order to keep our political views to ourselves. But slowly, our street has been overtaken with Obama signs, and the last straw was when our Dutch neighbors who can't even vote put one up! I went out yesterday and got a McCain/Palin sign and stuck it out front. And I'm not even that strong of a McCain supporter. I know, this will shock and surprise my poor husband. Yes, I like McCain, but Obama has been pretty convincing as well.
I hear that Obama is losing his lead in this race, something I never thought would happen, after his speech at the Democratic Convention. It all just makes me wonder how this will turn out next week-- I think this race is a lot closer than most people expected. I am excited to know that in this election my vote does count, and that vote is gong to McCain (I think).

Good for you. Here in Upper Bucks, I've seen tons more McCain signs than ones for Obama. I am personally voting for the candidate who chooses l-i-f-e.

Hi! I found your blog on Blog Around the World. I'm a PA, SAHM of three, who is also undecided. Honestly, I changed my mind 3 times yesterday!
We are in a battleground state here in Virginia too, but our local area isn't quite as front lines as you are. I wish our HOA didn't have rules against yard signs or I would have one up too! I'll just have to be happy with my McCain-Palin bumper sticker. I can understand how you may say that you aren't a strong McCain supporter, there are certainly some positions that he takes on the issues that I don't agree with. I consider my vote for McCain more as a vote against Obama than anything. Everything that I hear from him or read about him is very convincing--convincing me that having him as President would be very dangerous for this country. I agree with Heather who posted above that life is a big issue this time around since Obama places such a high priority on pro-abortion, pro-embryonic stem cell research policies. I also believe that more government regulation is not the answer for our country's healthcare, education, and economic systems. And finally our national security should be in the front of people's minds and I think that McCain has such a greater pool of experience and wisdom to draw on. The chances of terrorists, Russia, Iran, etc. testing him by attacking us are much smaller than if Obama were to be elected.
I'd check this post out before voting. Especially if you lean conservative in general.

I think if McCain loses it will be because of voters like you and me who weren't really thrilled with him, but didn't want to vote for Obama. I say that because I'm not out their campaigning for him; wheras the Obama supporters are. If anything, my energy this campaign has been in campaigning against Obama, but that's been undermined because of my lack of zeal for McCain. I still want Fred Thompson to win! ;) Sigh!
Next week is going to be very interesting. My only peace comes from knowing that God is in control regardless of the results.
